CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

If you’re looking specifically for CBT, this is an approach I use often, especially for anxiety and depression. It’s actually my natural default. My brain tends to think in CBT terms automatically, which makes it easy for me to bring into our work together, even in sessions where it’s not the main focus.

What CBT Looks Like With Me

We’ll spend time looking at the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how each one feeds the others. A lot of the work involves noticing cognitive distortions (the automatic thinking patterns that quietly shape how we feel) and learning to question them. I’ll also walk you through some psychoeducation on anxiety and depression, so the strategies make sense instead of feeling arbitrary.

Between Sessions

You may have some homework along the way, like a thought record, so you can start noticing these patterns as they happen during your week.

I offer CBT in person in Barre, Vermont, and via telehealth across Vermont and Maryland.
